A 79 year old German man named Werner Freund does something I didn’t even think was possible. He literally lives among wolves, and he has done it for 40 years. The way they respect him – and what he does with them – is simply unbelievable. Just look at the photos.

His wolves are actually PLAYFUL when he’s around.
The reason is that he’s established himself as the alpha.
His Wolfspark Sanctuary is located in Merzig where it’s inhabited by wolves from six different packs around the world, including Siberian, Arctic, Canadian, European and Mongolian ones
The pack, the basic unit of wolf social life, is usually a family group. It is made up of animals related to each other by blood and family ties of affection and mutual aid.
The core of a pack is a mated pair of wolves – an adult male and female that have bred and produced young.
The other members of the pack are their offspring: young wolves ranging in age from pups to two and three-year-olds.They were mostly raised by Freund from the time they were cubs
As shocking as it seems to those of us who don’t live with wolves, it’s actually necessary that he does this during feeding time. Werner makes sure that he sinks his teeth into the meat first, sealing his position as the dominant male each time. Then and only then are the others permitted to eat as well.
