2004 Nissan Frontier - Twice As Nice

Troy Cole has owned this truck not once but two different times over a period spanning just a couple of years. His first encounter with this Frontier was at Southeast Showdown in ’09. Back then, it was laid out on 20s and was rockin’ a simple green and silver two-tone paintjob. It was nice and clean, and Troy just had to have it. He used his bodied ’01GMC Sierra to bait the Nissan’s owner to agree to a straight-up trade. Troy hooked the big one and found himself behind the wheel of a new ride, but as you’ve probably already gathered from the first line of this story, he let the truck slip through his fingers.

"I kept the Frontier for about two months before I traded it for a Tacoma. I immediately regretted doing it because the Toyota was tiny and had a traditional bodydrop. I felt like a giraffe driving a Beetle," says Troy of his knack for trading.
After kicking himself in the head, or diligently trying to anyway, he offloaded the Toy’ to someone who actually fit inside cab and once again started scouting for another minitruck project. The wound left open by losing the Frontier still hadn’t scabbed yet, so this latest mishap stung like hell.

With the search starting to show no real signs of promise, Troy stumbled upon his ex-truck with another guy—a prospecting Aftermath member in Arkansas. The details of Troy’s pleading and methods of persuasion needn’t be discussed here, but he did get the truck back in the same condition he last saw it in. Its trip back to his garage, however, nearly took a turn for the worse though: “On the way home, the suicide driver door popped open and the trailer tire nearly caught and tore it off.”
Needless to say, the door took a little beating, but it did help speed up the complete overhaul process. The truck was cut to sit on 22s, the interior was gutted and spit-shined, new paint was sprayed, and it was debuted and shot at the same show Troy first laid eyes on it. How’s that for a turn of events?
